GCSE Maths for Adult
On this course, you will study for 2 separate exams, a non-calculator paper and a calculator paper. Both exams will take place during the summer term. There is no coursework for this qualification. Due to the intensive nature of the course and the high level content covering all the B grade topics such as trigonometry, solving linear equations, inequalities and simultaneous equations, students should allow a minimum of 3 hours per week for individual study outside of lessons.
The course is not suitable for people who:
- cannot regularly attend lessons
- cannot get to the lessons on time
- cannot commit to working outside of lesson time
Study times are one class of 3 hours per week. We offer daytime classes on most days from 9.45am - 1.00pm and also evening classes from 5.45pm - 9.00pm on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

Where Does It Lead:
Grade C or above in GCSE Maths is an essential requirement for many jobs and careers including Teaching, Social Work and the Health Professions. With a good GCSE Maths grade there are a wide range of career options open to you, If you want to take your studies further, you could progress to an Access to Higher Education Diploma, and then to a degree course. Most university courses will also require you to have a minimum of a grade C in GCSE Maths. Please check individual university websites for the specific entry requirements
If you have taken GCSE Maths before, we would expect you to have a grade D in order to be successful on this intensive one year programme, If you have not taken GCSE Maths before, or it is a long time since you have studied it, we will ask you to take an assessment to look at your numeracy before accepting you on to the one-year GCSE Maths course. We may then advise you to take a course which gives you a chance to brush up some of your skills before taking GCSE Maths the following yearsCourse Duration: 36 weeks
