Course Summary

This intensive full-time course is equivalent to 1 and a half A Levels and will prepare you for the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies) in your second year of study.

Where Does It Lead:

On successful completion of this course you will have the opportunity to further enhance your skills and knowledge by progressing on to a second year to achieve a L3 BTEC in Health and Social Care (Health Sciences), university to study a health and social care or science-related degree, L5 BTEC HND in Applied Biology or an Apprenticeship. Alternatively, you could enter employment straight away in the Health Services



Entry Requirement:

You will be expected to have 4 GCSEs grade 9-4 or including Maths, English & Science) or L2 Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care or Applied Science with merit or distinction. Functional Skills L2 in maths and English are accepted as equivalent qualifications to GCSEs. You will also be required to undergo a DBS check (replacing the CRB) when enrolling in this course. Applicants must also have a good reference, interview, assessment and communication skills. Your commitment and interest in the subject will also be assessed during the interview process
