This course is for those whose skills need more development before they can join a GCSE class. The focus is on basic number skills as well as very simple algebra and trigonometry.

Where Does It Lead:

Grade C or above in GCSE Maths is an essential requirement for many jobs and careers including Teaching, Social Work and the Health Professions. With a good GCSE Maths grade there are a wide range of career options open to you, If you want to take your studies further, you could progress to an Access to Higher Education Diploma, and then to a degree course. Most university courses will also require you to have a minimum of a grade C in GCSE Maths.

Entry Requirement:

If you have taken GCSE Maths before, we would expect you to have a grade D in order to be successful on this intensive one year programme, If you have not taken GCSE Maths before, or it is a long time since you have studied it, we will ask you to take an assessment to look at your numeracy before accepting you on to the one-year GCSE Maths course.
