New City College is celebrating another milestone in the incredible journey of former Performing Arts student Ellie Goldstein – who has now officially been confirmed as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

Ellie, who always dreamed of being on the TV show, will be the first contestant with Down’s syndrome to take part in a full series of the programme.

She said on receiving the news: “I can’t wait to see who my partner will be and I can’t wait to start training. I’m nervous but I want to get the glitterball and get points from Craig and all the judges!”

Her journey to the famous ballroom began at NCC Redbridge, where she studied Performing Arts, and it was here that her infectious energy and her passion for dancing began to shine.
