New City College was filled with energy, laughter and a strong sense of community as two inspiring charity Activity Days were held in partnership with Parkinson’s UK.
The events took place at the college’s Havering Sixth Form campus in Hornchurch and Redbridge campus in Chadwell Heath, welcoming members from the Havering and District and Redbridge branches of Parkinson’s UK. Both days proved to be a huge success, with guests leaving smiling and full of praise for the experience.
Designed to promote wellbeing, creativity and connection, the Activity Days offered a wide range of engaging sessions to suit all interests and abilities. From movement-based activities to creative workshops, the events provided valuable opportunities for participants to stay active, socialise and try something new in a supportive environment.
At the Redbridge campus, the day was sponsored by Fairlop Lions Club and featured an exciting programme including Tai Chi, yoga, art, non-contact boxing, table tennis, karaoke, IT sessions and speech therapy. Guests also heard from an inspiring panel of speakers, including Parkinson’s UK CEO Caroline Rassell, Carl Beech, inventor of the Beechband wrist device, and NHS representative Sarah Wynard, who spoke about the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) and how it benefits those with Parkinson’s.
