Proud family members, lecturers and guests came together at New City College for an inspiring Higher Education Graduation Ceremony – marking a major milestone in the academic journeys of this year’s graduates.
The evening, held at NCC Redbridge Campus, recognised the achievements of students who have completed a wide range of Higher Education qualifications – from foundation degrees and Higher National Diplomas, to teaching qualifications and honours degrees in areas such as education, counselling, computing, sport, engineering and management.
Dressed in traditional gowns and mortarboards, the graduates were warmly welcomed by Dr Alison Arnaud, Principal for Hackney and Tower Hamlets campuses, who praised their incredible commitment, resilience, and personal growth throughout their studies.
Guest Speaker Asha Kaur, a former student and now a SEND lecturer at NCC, delivered an uplifting message of congratulations, encouraging graduates to embrace the opportunities ahead and to continue inspiring others through the power of education. Her own academic story – from retaking GCSEs at New City College to gaining a postgraduate qualification and now teaching SEND students – resonated strongly with the audience.
