Tutorial and Pastoral Support at New City College

At New City College, every student is supported by a dedicated Pastoral Tutor who provides guidance, encouragement and personalised support throughout their college journey.

Our specialist tutorial programme is designed to help students develop the confidence, resilience and skills needed for success both in and beyond the classroom. Through weekly tutorial sessions, students explore important topics including wellbeing, healthy relationships, online safety, employability, study skills and personal development.

Pastoral Tutors work closely with students on a one-to-one basis, helping them to:

stay motivated and organised
set and achieve personal goals
improve attendance and progress
access wellbeing and safeguarding support
plan for university, apprenticeships or employment
