What have you enjoyed most about being part of the London Lions Academy?
I’ve loved how we’ve been able to connect with girls from other campuses and different schools. We’ve created really strong bonds with each other and with the coaches too. It feels like a proper team with a great support system.
What makes your group so special?
In the first few weeks, we all just clicked. Everyone got along straight away and you could tell this group was going to be something different. There’s a real sense of community – everyone wants to see each other improve and do well.
How has the programme helped you personally?
It’s definitely helped me become a better version of myself, a better player. I’m focused on developing my skills, not just on the court but also off it, being more confident, disciplined and consistent in everything I do.
Why would you encourage other young women to join the programme?
Our group is very diverse, and that’s what makes it so special. Girls should come and get involved because they’ll learn so much – not just about basketball but about teamwork and leadership. They’ll also build some amazing friendships which they wouldn’t have had otherwise.
