James

Congratulations to former Hackney Campus student James Prosowicz who has been awarded a scholarship and is now a first year student at Teesside University London, studying Games Art.

James, who studied the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Creative Media and achieved a Triple Merit grade while at Hackney, was one of three successful applicants to the Here East Scholarship.

It means he will have all his tuition fees paid as well as £2,700 per year support with living and maintenance costs. He will also benefit from opportunities such as work experience and mentoring from industry-leading employers.

The process was competitive and was open to all students from the boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Waltham Forest and Tower Hamlets. It is down to James’ hard work and commitment that he was chosen from the hundreds who applied.

James said: “I want to make my mum proud as I will be the only one in my family to attend university and will also be happy to prove all those wrong who told me I would not achieve anything due to being autistic. My goal is achieving a degree which will be a great boost to my confidence.”

Good luck and well done to James!
