Paige Burley

Paige is a former Level 3 Travel & Tourism student who left New City College in summer 2022 and is now jetting around Europe in her job as Ryanair cabin crew.

She says she is loving her new career and puts her success down to the fantastic teachers and course that she took at our Epping Forest campus.

Paige, who studied hard while at college and achieved the highest grade of Triple Distinction* in her assessments and exams, said: “My dream has always been to become Air Cabin Crew and with the help and support of my tutors and my family, my dream has become a reality.

“I started New City College in September 2020 and enrolled on the Level 3 Travel & Tourism course as I had an interest in working in the aviation industry. The course allowed me to understand the travel industry in detail and I am now using the skills I learnt at college every day in my job with Ryanair.

“With Covid seriously impacting air travel during the time I was studying, I was unsure whether my dream of becoming cabin crew would ever happen! However, the industry will always overcome such challenges because there will always be people who will want to travel for many reasons.

“Towards the end of my course I was so pleased to find out that Ryanair had invited my class to an open event at Stansted Airport as they needed to recruit staff once the travel restrictions were lifted. I went along and then applied for a position.

“I attended an interview and was excited to be told I had been successful! I finished my course at college with high grades and I started my Ryanair training straight after.

“Once I had completed my training, I began flying exactly one month later – it was the best decision I made to attend Epping Forest campus and study the Travel & Tourism course as it pushed me to achieve my dreams quicker than I ever expected.”
