Course information

The aim of this course is to develop beauty therapy skills and knowledge so that you can progress to the next level of study. It will also enable you to perform your own basic services and to assist others in the salon. Students will gather evidence for assessment through the study of mandatory and optional units, in a real working environment without the need for fee-paying clients.

To further enhance your skills you will cover artistic and creative elements such as nail art, themed face painting and photographic make-up. To underpin this qualification you will also develop a sound knowledge of health and safety and receive an introduction into salon reception duties, retail displays and working with others.

What Can This Course Lead To

Successful students can progress to further study at Level 2 or you may choose to develop your skills in a specialist pathway by undertaking vocational qualifications in beauty therapy at Level 2 such as the City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or the VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up.
