Course information

Launch your career in engineering with the T Level in Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing. This two-year qualification is equivalent to three A Levels and carries UCAS points, giving you the technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment, higher apprenticeships or university study.

You will gain a deep understanding of how modern engineering and manufacturing industries operate, learning to analyse materials, processes and systems to solve real-world technical problems. Supported by expert tutors, you will combine classroom study with hands-on practical work and complete a substantial industry placement to apply your learning in a professional engineering environment.

You will also complete an occupational specialism in one of the following areas: Maintenance Engineering Technologies (Mechanical) or Maintenance Engineering Technologies (Electrical and Electronic).

What Can This Course Lead To

After completing the T Level in Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing, you can progress to a range of exciting opportunities in higher education, apprenticeships and skilled employment.

Many students go on to study subjects such as mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, manufacturing systems or industrial design at university. Others choose higher or degree apprenticeships in areas like maintenance engineering, automation, product design, or advanced manufacturing.

You can also move directly into employment as an engineering technician, maintenance engineer, or manufacturing specialist. This T Level provides the technical skills, problem-solving ability and industry experience that employers and universities value across the engineering and technology sectors.
