Course Overview

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum of Grade 3 in English Language and Grade 4 in Maths, or Grade 4 in English Language and Grade 3 in Maths, together with 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above (or equivalent).

Course information

This qualification is designed for 16-19 year old learners who wish to work towards becoming a plumber in the building services industry. It has been designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide a platform from which to progress through further learning through an apprenticeship programme or into employment/NVQ. This vocational route at level 2 is a vital step towards becoming a competent plumber.

The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the plumbing sector.

NCC works with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements will also be provided by the employers.

What Can This Course Lead To

Successful completion of this programme with good attendance and end of year report will give direct entry to the Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Plumbing (8202-35) which is also offered at NCC.

This qualification will also prepare you for a plumbing apprenticeship programme, which fully qualifies you to work as a plumbing and domestic heating engineer. Once qualified, there are many specialist qualifications available, such as environmental technology systems and designing and planning complex water systems.
