Car Maintenance: Beginner or equivalent knowledge is recommended.

Course information

This Adult Skills Intermediate Car Maintenance course is designed specifically for learners who have already completed the General (Beginners) Car Maintenance programme and are ready to deepen their practical automotive skills. Building on the foundational knowledge gained at beginner level, this course offers more advanced, hands-on training within a fully equipped workshop on campus.

Led by experienced motor-trade professionals, the course provides real-world insight and further develops your confidence in working with vehicle systems. Learners will carry out a wider range of intermediate maintenance tasks using dedicated workshop vehicles, with the option to work on their own car to strengthen understanding and apply skills directly to real-life situations.

As part of the Adult Skills progression pathway, this intermediate course prepares you for further advancement in automotive learning. Possible progression routes include accredited vocational pathways in automotive technology.
