This course provides advanced training for teaching assistants who want to progress to Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status. It focuses on supporting students with additional needs, planning lessons, and working effectively within the classroom.
Designed for those currently employed in a teaching assistant role, the qualification helps develop the skills and understanding needed to support individual learners and small groups, including those with special educational needs.
You will study one evening per week in college and complete 12 hours of work placement per week.
Higher-level teaching assistants are increasingly valued in schools, particularly those who can support students with learning disabilities and special needs.
