Support for students
The Zone can act as a safe place for students with anxiety to take time out and sit quietly until they feel ready to go back to the classroom.
The Learning Zone at Ardleigh Green is a place where students can drop in at any time to get some extra support.
The Zone also helps those students with a range of learning needs and difficulties, such as autism, disabilities, serious illness or injury, physical sensory needs, ADHD, anxiety and mental health issues.
The college has a good relationship with local secondary schools, so there is a smooth transition for those students who may be anxious or need extra support. Staff also work with mental health advisors to help students feel supported at college.
A team of qualified staff, who have experience in dealing with students with physical, medical and emotional needs, work with students even before they enrol at college to ensure they will get the support they need once they are here.
