Ian has held many roles in post 16 education since 2003 - always with a focus on students and the local community. In 2008 he joined Havering Sixth Form as a teacher, progressing to senior leadership positions within the group in 2016.
His varied community and voluntary roles include being a primary school governor, an executive board member of a charity and most recently a magistrate, sitting on the East London bench.
He is passionate about giving students the best possible experience in education and ensuring that they progress to great destinations after college. He says: "I love working with students, it keeps you young and every day is different."
Ian holds both a BSc and an MSc and has also completed the Leadership Development Programme of the Sixth Form Colleges Association (SFCA).
In his spare time he is a keen cyclist and enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with his family.
