College wins electrical and engineering apprenticeship tender
An exciting opportunity to recruit and deliver electrical and engineering apprenticeships for a Ministry of Justice Government agency has been won by New City College.
Up to 24 electricians and engineers, over the age of 18, will be recruited to the apprenticeship scheme for Gov Facility Services Ltd (GFSL) who provide maintenance services to prisons across the south of England.
The apprentices will develop their skills and careers while working at the Ministry of Justice-owned company, supplying prison maintenance services and starting on a salary of £18k which rises each year. The apprenticeships are due to start in February (lockdown regulations permitting) and will run for three years, culminating in either an NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance Engineering qualification.
The programme is a joint initiative between New City College, the GFSL and Choice Training, and opportunities will be available in prisons all over the south east area, from London to Norwich.
