Kirsty is a Barrister at 4 King’s Bench Walk Chambers in the City of London, practising mainly criminal and family law.

A former pupil at Albany School (now Hornchurch High), Kirsty attended the College from 2010 to 2012, achieving 2 A*s and 2 As in A Level Law, Extended Project, English Literature and Religious Studies.

She then went on to gain her Law Degree at Queen Mary, University of London, before completing the BPTC (Bar Course) at the University of Law.

Kirsty, who met her partner Luke Main while a student at Havering Sixth Form, joined the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, who she says, helped her greatly by awarding her scholarships.

She also took on internships and work experience roles at various legal firms and law chambers and became a Vocalise Mentor for The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. This involved teaching debating at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, where she led the prisoners’ team into their final debate with Cambridge and Oxford University. The Wormwood Scrubs team won their debate on whether those who are famous lose their right to a private life.

Kirsty completed her Pupillage in September 2018 and joined 4 King’s Bench Walk Chambers in November 2018. She says most of her working days are spent representing clients in trials in the Magistrates’, Youth Courts and Crown Courts up and down the country. She has even had one hearing at the Old Bailey.

She said: “I prosecute and defend and no two days are ever the same. I love my job but I honestly don’t think I would be where I am without the help and support of the staff at Havering Sixth Form College. My memories from my college days are some of my happiest.”
