This Entry Level course is a vocational Foundation Learning qualification which is primarily designed to engage and motivate 16 to 19-year-olds who are interested in learning about the maintenance of motor vehicles and the various roles that are available in the motor industry. There are no formal entry requirements for the course, which is open to anyone aged 16 and over, who is interested in gaining multi-skills and a nationally-recognised qualification for the motor vehicle industry.
On this course there is a combination of mandatory and optional units which provides students with the flexibility of achieving and progressing in small manageable steps. There is a practical approach to assessment which includes many visual questioning techniques, which builds interest for the student. The majority of the course takes place in a practical environment with workshop tools and equipment. For each unit there will be some classroom based learning and job card to fill in with basic questions.
