The course is aimed at learners that have a passion for motorcycles it works fantastically for people with up to 2 years riding experience but is also great for everyone no matter age or experience. The course covers key areas in 9 different sections to enable learners on how to maintain motorcycles mechanical components this includes motorcycle troubleshooting, servicing and carrying out basic repairs also preparing for M.O.T.
The course is designed to give learners hands on skills, knowledge and understanding through combinations of theoretical and practical know-hows. We have motorcycles in the workshop that we use to carry out practical tasks, but learners are encouraged to use their own bikes to work on to help further their understanding by personalising learning in a supervised garage. By the end of the course, you'll ride with the confidence knowing that your bike is in your capable hands. And well feel the difference on a well-maintained motorcycle.
The College does not provide parts or materials for vehicle maintenance. If you arrange with the tutor to bring your vehicle into the garage for a task, you will need to supply the necessary parts, while the College provides access to its equipment and tools .
Learners will be required to buy bike specific materials:
Overalls are available, but learners must wear sturdy protective shoes or boots and the purchase of good heavy duty, good grip gloves.
