Equality, Diversity and Inlcusion at New City College

Overarching strategic statement:

All learners and staff at New City College have the right to equity of opportunity and parity of esteem.

New City College is committed to equality of access to education and success for all learners. This is managed on an individual learner level and no assumptions are made based on protected characteristics or other factors. Data regarding learner gender, ethnicity, disability and other key factors is monitored to ensure that New City College does not disadvantage any particular demographic and that initiatives are measured by impact. Emphasis is given to broader national trends so that the work of the college reflects the world outside and learners and staff are empowered to be resilient and proactive in the promotion of their right to equality.

Essentially, the College seeks to identify opportunities to celebrate diversity with all stakeholders. College activity reflects a diverse demographic and supports a culture of tolerance and the celebration of individual and collective identity within the College community.

At New City College we aim to have a course for you.

We offer courses from entry level to HE and offer many kinds of support to help our students achieve.

Some courses have age specifications due to the funding we receive (some are just for 14-16s or 16-18s and others for 19+ for example).

Our Learning Support team is second to none. If you have a disability or learning need, discuss this with us at enrolment and we will do all we can to accommodate your needs. Due to current funding regulations, specific support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) needs to be approved by the student’s home local authority. Talk to us and we can liaise with them.

At NCC we break barriers and break down stereotypes: All our courses are open to learners of each gender and biological sex. The practical aspects of some courses mean that we may need to make adjustments or share a learner’s biological sex with other students or external placements and this will be discussed with you during our enrolment process.

We hold open events through the year for you to find out more. And if you have any questions email info@ncclondon.ac.uk .
