OKN1 restaurant to host Ukrainian Benefit Night

A Ukrainian Benefit Night to raise funds for UNICEF is being held at OKN1 Restaurant next week in support of two New City College students from Ukraine.

The special evening, on Thursday 17th March, will be a celebration of Ukrainian culture with traditional music and a three-course menu of authentic Ukrainian cuisine.

Students Angelina Duschak, 17, and Elvira Grygutsiak, 18, are both training at OKN1 as they study Event Management and Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Food & Beverage Service Supervision at New City College’s Hackney campus.

The students have had an input into designing and creating the delicious menu. It includes traditional dishes such as Beetroot Broth served with sour cream and homemade bread, Chicken Kiev with Dill Mashed potatoes, Ukrainian Gnocchi in a Tomato Sauce with Wild Mushroom and Pancakes served with Raspberries & Sweetened Sour Cream.

As well as proceeds going to UNICEF, there will also be a collection on the night for diners to contribute. The meal is a set price of £25 for three courses.

OKN1 Hoxton is a professional restaurant which puts training, community and creativity first. The collaborative kitchen of trainee chefs and professional chefs proudly serves dishes inspired by local surroundings, culture and the seasons.

The restaurant is at 40 Hoxton Street, Hackney N1 6LR. See the special menu below and to book a table go to the OKN1 website:  https://okn1.co.uk/
