Students recognised for effort and excellence

Students across New City College have been recognised with awards and Amazon vouchers for an excellent term of achievement and effort.

Awards were presented to winners of Maths and English competitions, essay writing competitions and for 100% attendance.

Ri’Maia received an Amazon voucher for winning the Black History essay writing competition which was open to all students at Havering Sixth Form. She is pictured with Deputy Principal Phil Hall, left, and her history tutor Kieran Clements.

Jasper won a £50 Amazon voucher for 100% attendance in term one on the Business course at Redbridge campus. He is pictured with Deputy Principal Jacqueline Mitchell.

Demin, from Havering Sixth Form, won the New City College Century Maths challenge – an online competition run in the month of November – to encourage GCSE Maths students to attempt and answer as many Maths questions as they could during lessons and in their own study time. He is pictured receiving a £100 Amazon voucher from Deputy Principal Phil Hall with his Maths tutor Hannah Giles.

Elisha won a £50 Amazon voucher for 100% attendance in term one on the Early Years Level 3 course at Redbridge campus. She received her award from Redbridge Deputy Principal Jacqueline Mitchell.

Chelsea, from Havering Sixth Form, was the runner-up in the New City College Century Maths challenge – an online competition run in the month of November – to encourage GCSE Maths students to attempt and answer as many Maths questions as they could during lessons and in their own study time. Balraj was presented with a £50 Amazon voucher for 100% attendance in term one on the Foundation Learning course at Redbridge campus. He is pictured with Deputy Principal Jacqueline Mitchell.

 

At our Ardleigh Green campus in Hornchurch, there were 218 students with 100% attendance and no lates who were all entered into the prize draw for one of ten £25 Amazon vouchers.

The ten winners were: Mahfuz Dihan Alam, Nabiel Arif, Sophie Windley, Annabelle Mae Aglipay, Sophie Ashley, Anuoluwapo Ayinuola Kilani, Jessica Blake, Sharna Dodge, Rocio Del Rio Rubio and Sienna Aldis.

Well done to all those who have had an exemplary attendance record this December.
