Applications for both 16–18 and adult courses are currently closed and will reopen towards the end of October for courses starting in January 2026 and beyond.

  • How we support you

    At New City College we provide the support to help you succeed and make the most of your time while you are with us. We have a range of outstanding services that will guide you through your college journey – from career and university advice to mental health and learning support. With your own Pastoral Tutor, you will always have someone to turn to. 

  • Course and careers advice

    We know it can sometimes be challenging deciding what and where to study, so if you need help deciding which course is right for you, our friendly advisers can give you some guidance and also support you through the application and enrolment process. 

    They can also advise on any financial help and assistance that New City College can offer. Please call them on 0330 135 9000. 

    The college holds Open Events throughout the year where you can meet the Deputy Principal, teachers, other staff and students who will be able to answer questions about courses and college life. 

    Our Careers advice teams are also at Open Events and are available to students at all stages of their college journey. Find out more about careers support within college. 

  • Mental health and wellbeing support

    Our mental health and wellbeing team offers a range of support for you during your time at college. From confidential 1-1 sessions, to group events and exam stress-busting techniques – there is always someone to help. 

    We have qualified counsellors who can support you through difficult times, such as relationship problems, family issues, anxiety, exam stress, depression and any other personal circumstances that are emotionally challenging and may interfere with your learning. 

    Our experienced mental health advisers give individual support, such as practical advice, information, advocacy and referrals to internal and external services. Find out more about our mental health and wellbeing support service. 

  • Financial support

    If you need support with materials or other educational costs, we can allocate funds to you through our 16-18 bursary, the college’s 19+ bursary and the bursary for students taking out an advanced learner loan. We also provide free college meals for eligible students. Find out more about the financial support we can give you. 

  • Additional learning support

    Our Additional Learning Support team provides valuable support to help with your studies. You can access support ranging from specialist assessment or screening, one-to-one study mentoring, special examination access arrangements, in-class support and assistance for people with hearing and/or visual impairments.

  • Pathway to university or work

    Applying to New City College will mean you are already on your pathway to a degree, an apprenticeship or a job. We have very strong links with a range of universities and employers and we will support you to progress to your next destination. Our careers teams will give you all the advice you need once you are here.
