Course overview
The Award in Childcare with Employability Skills is a four week
programme. It will focus on comprehending child development which
will benefit parents and caregivers. This also contributes towards
creating a positive community impact – childcare services are crucial in
supporting families. All participants will be required to complete a two
day work experience placement as part of their programme. This will
then lead to a guaranteed job interview.

Course content
• Childcare Fundamentals: learn the core principles of childcare,
child development, and age appropriate teaching methods
• Employability Skills: develop crucial skills such as communication,
teamwork, problem solving, and professionalism to excel in the
childcare profession

Duration: 4 weeks

Progression
On completion of this course there are numerous entry level career
opportunities, for example: nursery assistant, nanny, babysitter,
playgroup assistant, or creche assistant. You will acquire valuable
insights and expertise to excel in providing high-quality childcare.
This can lead to higher-paying positions and career advancement.

Entry requirements
To attend this course you must:
• Be aged 19 and over
• Be legally allowed to work in the UK
• Have lived in the UK for the last three years
• Be claiming work-related benefits such as Jobseeker’s Allowance or
Housing Benefit
• Pass a short assessment for English and Maths
