Course information

This Adult Skills course introduces learners to the fundamental techniques of pastry-making, helping you build confidence and competence in the kitchen. You will explore different types of pastries and their ingredient mixtures, learn how to measure ingredients accurately, and understand how oven temperatures affect results. The course also develops your ability to use pastry-making equipment safely and effectively, ensuring you can handle tools with confidence and prepare the correct quantities for a range of pastries.


Alongside practical skills, you will gain essential knowledge of kitchen health and safety, including food allergies and safe working practices. By strengthening core skills and building a solid foundation in pastry-making, this course supports learners in progressing to more advanced baking or patisserie pathways.
