Support for learners with special needs and disabilities
We offer a comprehensive range of training and support to learners with special needs and disabilities to help them achieve their aspirations.
In the Foundation Learning and special education needs and disability (SEND) department at New City College, we are passionate about students achieving their full potential through holistic, innovative, experiential learning opportunities.
Our courses such as Encounter, Discovery and Move On are designed to help our students become more independent, build their confidence and communication skills and become ready for adult life.
Our Vocational Explorer and Foundation pathway courses support the transition into college and build student’s confidence and study skills.
We also provide supported employment and enterprise pathways, which facilitate students becoming ready for work, for instance through our Skills for Work and very popular Supported Internship Programmes.
In addition, we have bespoke catering and café courses. Students develop employability and catering skills with experience in a working kitchen. They also learn to cook, front of house and customer service skills.
