Free workshops for the community as New City College launches vibrant Arts and Culture show

A community-based Arts and Culture Show featuring practical workshops for members of the public to try FREE will launch at The Spark Lab next week.

New City College staff and students will begin a six-week residency at the shop in Ilford High Road to offer sessions on Drawing, Lino Cut Prints, Stencilling, Collographs, Photography and Graphic Design.

The pop-up venture will also showcase an exciting array of student work, including original art pieces, paintings, mounted prints, film screenings, photography, hand-printed textile designs, performing arts shows and a range of clothing – as the creative arts come together in a rich and eclectic exhibition.

The artworks will be on sale to the general public who can browse the visual displays and also book in for a free workshop to improve their own skills or learn a new art form.

The college is brimming full of local artistic talent from a variety of ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. Students produce some remarkable, high-quality work that is inspiring and will resonate with members of the community.
