It’s a full house for Medics as every student achieves Medical School offer

The Medics group, which runs at Havering Sixth Form campus for students aiming for a medical career, has celebrated every student on the programme gaining a place at university to study either Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science.

This is the first time every student has received an offer and it is the highest number the Medics group has achieved. As New City College Group Principal and CEO Gerry McDonald said, ‘it is a real tribute to the hard work of the students and their teachers’.

These prestigious courses and medical schools are notoriously difficult to get into and the students found out about their offers in the week they took their final A Level assessment exams.

Along with seven current students, three former students who left college last year and took gap years, were also offered places for September 2021 entry.

The students are:

Medicine – Dovydas Mackevius (East Anglia); Alexandra Catana (East Anglia Gateway); Aliya Auguste (Birmingham); Nicholas Johnson (East Anglia); Charlene Kazibwe (Kings Extended); Sumaiya Begum (Leicester) and Nicky Ahadi (Exeter).

Dentistry: Ella Berner (Kings) and Darcia Khaled (Cardiff).

Veterinary: Angelica Thompson (Royal Veterinary College).
