New Department for Education Minister visits New City College to discuss the future of FE

Four days into the job and Jacqui Smith, the Department for Education’s new Minister of State for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education visited New City College to discuss the future of further education, and the sector’s challenges and opportunities.

Two of NCC’s brilliant apprentices, along with CEO Gerry McDonald and the college’s four Principals, Alison Arnaud, Janet Smith, Narzny Khan and Colleen Marshall, enjoyed extending a warm welcome to Jacqui Smith on behalf of the FE sector.

The Minister had a whistlestop tour of facilities and asked the apprentices, Samuel Walker and Aliyah Ahmed, about their journey from being apprentices to becoming full time employees at New City College.
