This Level 1 qualification provides students with the opportunity to work or study in some of the following sectors: Business and Administration, Catering, Creative Skills, Horticulture and Sport and Leisure as well as gain more generic employability skills designed to build confidence for the workplace.

The qualification also contains units to address learners’ needs in personal development, understanding of risk and to teach them the knowledge and skills necessary to make safe and informed decisions, as well as where to seek help and guidance to keep themselves mentally and physically safe and healthy.

Learners will gain an overview of key skills and areas of knowledge to inform further study and/or employment choices This qualification will provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of transferable skills, teamwork and presentation skills.

    Assessment is ongoing through the academic year and paced at the learner level.
