Student Jonathan Slater has fulfilled a lifetime ambition and has written a book which is published and available to buy on Amazon.
Jonathan, who studies Sport at NCC Hackney campus, says it’s a great feeling knowing his work is up on Amazon and he hopes his success will motivate others to achieve something they really want to do.
Although he is studying the Sport qualification, he enjoys writing in his spare time.
The idea and inspiration for his book came from his love of watching anime and reading manga. The story revolves around an 18-year-old murderer who is sentenced to death for killing several biker gang members who were responsible for the death of his parents.
In the story he is killed, but is given a chance to live a second life in his favourite Comic book series Dragon Cry, where he is given dragon magic and must learn to enhance his powers.
Jonathan said: “Writing a book and getting it published was a dream of mine – something I have always wanted to do. One day I just thought, ‘I’m going to go for it’, and I did!
“My goal is to get an animation adaption out of the publication and I also hope that this motivates others to do something they love.
“It feels great to have my own book published as hopefully I can now start earning a bit of money for myself and supporting my family.
“It wasn’t too difficult to get the book on Amazon, so I would urge anyone who is thinking of doing the same to have a try. Don’t let the process stop you as it can be fairly simple.”
Jonathan is now continuing with his love of writing and planning to make the book into a series which will be named Dragon Cry: Reborn.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to writing the series. I have lots of ideas.”
Well done Jonathan – keep up the good work!
