Sajjad

Sajjad began his journey at New City College in the Foundation Learning area and has now progressed to studying the Art & Design BTEC course. His next step is to find an apprenticeship in administration. Find out about his college life in the Q&A below.

 

Tell us about your education journey – what and where did you study before coming to NCC?

I started off in the Foundation Learning SEND department at New City College and then I progressed into the mainstream curriculum. The course I decided to do was Media, Art and Design and so far I have achieved double merit grades.

What are your plans for next steps?

My next step is to seek an apprenticeship in administration.

What’s your ambition in life?

My ambition is to earn good money so that I can live a full life.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned on your course?

I think it would be that hard work pays off in the end.

How did New City College help you achieve?

I was able to go to the Learning Zone and the Library and the college also put on extra workshops.

What values are most important to you?

Hard work and dedication.

What is the biggest change you wish to see in the world? 

That everyone is united.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

To never give up.

If you could go back in time, what would you tell your 15-year-old self?

To concentrate in school.

What makes you feel positive?

Good weather and getting good grades.

Who is your role model?

Myself, my teachers and my parents.

Who is your favourite teacher and why?

Riaad Hussein because he is always keeping me positive and always telling me to never give up.

What is the best thing about New City College?

The Costa Coffee café!

If you had three wishes, what would they be?

To work hard and earn good money, to be settled and to enjoy myself.
