New City College has outstanding experience with its range of courses that lead to great careers. It is now leading the way on T Levels.

NEW for September 2021 at New City College

T Levels are a brand new, two-year qualification for 16-19 year olds. They are equivalent to A Levels and Level 3 qualifications, combining real industry work experience with classroom studies that will give young leaners the helping hand towards a future career.

T Levels are demanding, classroom-based, technical study programmes that will allow students to learn what a real career is like while they study.

New City College has developed exceptional relationships with leading London employers where students will gain valuable skills in their industry placement.

On successful completion, students will gain a qualification that is recognised by employers and can take them onto a Higher Apprenticeship or further study at university.

Your T Level will be worth UCAS points – a T Level Distinction* is worth the same as 3 A Levels at A* – and will be recognised by universities and other education providers so you can choose to continue studying if you wish.

T LEVEL IN EDUCATION AND CHILDCARE

Students will be graded for their Core Assessment: A* to E and U (ungraded) and Occupational Specialism Assessment method: Distinction, Merit, Pass and U (ungraded).

For students who want to progress to higher education, UCAS tariff points will also be allocated to the overall T Level grade.

T Levels consist of several essential elements:

  • An approved Technical Qualification (TQ) that provides technical knowledge and practical skills specific to a learner's chosen industry or occupation.
  • ‘On-the-job’ experience during an industry placement of at least 350 hours.
  • Functional skills in maths, English and digital at a minimum of Level 2, or GCSEs in English and maths.
  • Transferrable workplace skills.
  • Enrichment and tutorials.

T Levels can open up a wide range of progression opportunities for students to consider.

Your T Level will be worth UCAS points – a T Level Distinction* is worth the same as 3 A Levels at A* – and will be recognised by universities and other education providers so you can choose to continue studying if you wish.
