Entry requirements

You should ideally have a Level 1 qualification in English and maths, however lower grades would be considered.
You are encouraged to study short English and Maths courses with us prior to course start.

Course information

This is an introduction to Carpentry, you will study a mixture of practical and theory units, and will undertake practical tasks that include learning the basic techniques and joints of carpentry and joinery. You will also study tools, resources and materials along with communication, health and safety and working as part of a team. Suitable for those aged 19+ and looking to study on a part-time basis.

  • How you are assessed

    You will be assessed by a combination of observation and completion of practical tasks, theory based assignments and an end-of-year examination taken online.
