Entry requirements
Although some hairdressing experience would be desirable it is not essential. You must be able to commit to at least three hours per week of home study; have a good level of written and spoken English and computer skills.
Course information
This part-time course is designed to offer you the opportunity to learn hair colouring skills and incorporate women's hair styling techniques. The qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards for Hairdressing.
This course is suitable if you are currently working or wish to work in a hairdressing salon and wish to gain a formal qualification. Alternatively, it is suitable for someone with no experience who wants to gain basic hairdressing skills to enable them to work in a salon as a junior or freelance.
