Entry requirements

  • Counselling qualification at Level 3 with a minimum of 48 UCAS points.
  • GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above
  • Current DBS is required for some placements (charges may apply)
  • Successful completion of interview is required.

Please note, the college reserves the right to accept evidence of working towards a maths qualification upon completion of a successful interview.

The interview will include participation in a skills/role play activity; a written case study exercise; and a formal interview.

Course information

The Level 4 Certificate in Higher Education qualification aims to enable students to develop a seamless, and responsive approach to integrative counselling This engaging and supportive course is designed to help you develop a confident, flexible, and responsive integrative counselling approach, grounded in contemporary theory and practice. You will explore key integrative counselling theories and practical skills, building a strong foundation for ethical, reflective, and evidence-based practice.

The course prepares you for higher-level study, upon successful completion this can lead to progression onto Level 5 course, with opportunities beyond to a top-up degree in counselling. You will need to complete a Level 5 course to qualify as counsellor. Delivered by experienced counselling practitioners the course offers a high level of personal and academic support, including regular one-to-one tutorials to guide your development throughout the course.
