Principal: Hackney and Tower Hamlets

Alison Arnaud

Alison has over 30 years of experience in education and has been with the College group since 2015. She has extensive knowledge of the further education sector and has also worked in schools, private training providers and universities. She joined Tower Hamlets College, from LSEC, working in various curriculum areas and eventually co-leading the Quality team.

Alison became Principal at Tower Hamlets in August 2016 and added Hackney to her responsibilities in January of 2019. Within the Group she has responsibility for a significant range of curriculum areas.

Alison has undertaken the Strategic Leadership Programme for Principals and CEOs at the Said School of Business, University of Oxford.

Katie Stafford

Katie has worked in Further Education Colleges and Training Providers for over 16 years. This includes recent experience in colleges in the south-east and London. She joined New City College as a Group Curriculum Director in 2018 and was recently appointed Deputy Principal at Hackney. She has overall responsibility for the delivery of GCSE and Functional Skills English qualifications across the college Group and is a Safeguarding Officer.

Katie has strong working relationships with key professionals in the Borough to ensure that Hackney College is a key strategic partner in the delivery of high-quality education in the Borough. Her priorities are that all students enjoy their experience at college, achieve their full potential and are kept safe and well.

Katie has studied and achieved Leadership and Management qualifications that includes a Masters in Education which focuses on how colleges achieve improvements in the quality of service that is provided to learners.
