Practical Cleaning Skills | New City College

This course is designed for people wishing to enter the industry who do not have a relevant qualification; or who are directly engaged within the sector. This includes: facilities management, cleaning, hospitality & catering.

Course overview
The following subjects are covered:
• Health and safety in the workplace
• Personal protective equipment
• Manual handling operations
• Control of substances hazardous to health
• Safe handling and disposal of waste

Course content
This programme includes:
• Entry Level 3 Award in Practical Cleaning skills
• Level 1 Award in Practical Cleaning skills

Progression
On completion of this course, we will support you to progress onto other courses i.e. Level 1 Award Introduction to Hospitality, Level 1 Certificate in Practical Cleaning Skills, apprenticeships or employment.

Entry requirements
To attend this course you must:
• Be 19+
• Be legally allowed to work in the UK
• Have lived in the UK for the last three years
• Be claiming work related benefits such as Jobseeker’s Allowance or Housing Benefit
• Pass a short assessment for English and Maths
