Lannen Armstrong became a teacher after leaving College and university and progressed to become Head of Sociology at Langdon Academy in Barking at the age of just 26.
A former student at Sanders Draper School, Hornchurch, she took A Levels in PE, Government & Politics and English Language & Literature as well as an AS Level in Media Studies.
She looks back on her time at college with good memories and says the tutors were always supportive.
After leaving the sixth form in 2009, Lannen attended the University of Essex to study Politics and Philosophy and then did her teaching qualification. She had set her heart on being a teacher from an early age and did her work experience at Ardleigh Green Primary School in Hornchurch.
She said: “I love my job – it’s very busy and sometimes demanding but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
