Motor Vehicle Body Repair (Level 1)

Course Overview

Entry requirements

If you have not yet achieved a grade 4/5 (C) or above in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions if you achieved grade 3 (D) or Functional Skills sessions (if you achieved grade 2 (E) or below.

Information

If you love cars and are considering working in the motor vehicle accident repair industry, this course will give you those specialist skills required to either progress to the Level 2 Diploma or on to employment.

The course includes:

  • spray painting techniques
  • minor damage repair
  • M.E.T. stripping and refitting
  • panel preparation
  • welding
  • panel fabrication
  • Assessment Criteria

    Evidence of competence is gathered and compiled by the you, the student, throughout the academic year. Continuous observation is made by the tutor. Tutor marked workbooks will be used to provide evidence of practical workshop assessments and online multi-choice exams, set by IMI, to test theoretical knowledge. You will produce a portfolios which will be assessed by the College and IMI. All of the studies listed are compulsory and form an Introduction into Motor Vehicle Body Engineering
