Course information

This courses can help you take your first steps towards a career in the digital industry. You will learn the skills to produce IT systems and software, websites and mobile apps, and video, graphics and animation.

You can expect to study:

  • Website Development
  • Computer Games Development
  • Spreadsheet Modelling
  • Animation
  • Working and Communicating within the IT Industry
  • Customising Software
  • How you are assessed

    A mixture of coursework (60%) and exams (40%)

What Can This Course Lead To

The majority of successful students progress onto one of our Level 3 courses in Information Technology, Games Development, Media Production or Graphics and Photography, but it can also be used as a foundation to progress to other subjects at Level 3. You may decide to seek an apprenticeship or enter the world of work within the IT sector. With this qualification, and further study, future careers could include computer programmers, web designers, project managers, social media managers, social community managers, digital specialists and mobile application developers.
