Entry requirements
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However you will be assessed to confirm you are able to work at Level 2.
Course information
This qualification aims to provide an understanding of the different types of diabetes and how they can occur. It will also develop your awareness of how the onset of Type 2 diabetes can be delayed with lifestyle changes, develop an understanding of diabetes diagnosis and initial care and develop an understanding of on-going care and treatment of diabetes to control blood sugar levels. At the end of the course those working, or intending to work, in healthcare and social will have gained care knowledge and understanding of diabetes to support their role in the workplace. It will also enable you to progress to other qualifications in this subject area, or within the wider area of health and social care
