You will be expected to have GCSE English Language atgrade 4 or above, Maths grade 3 or above, plus 2 other GCSEs at grade 3 or above. A satisfactory interview and satisfactory DBS (formerly CRB) check are also required.

This is a full time professional qualification which meets the criteria for employment within the childcare sector at Level 2.
Completion of this qualification will equip you with knowledge, understanding and skills across a range of key subject areas, for example the stages and sequences of child development, children’s needs in relation to emotional and physical well-being, the role of the early years practitioner in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children, safeguarding children and child protection, and the role of play in relation to children’s learning and development.
This is a full-time Level 2 qualification designed to start to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas. Successful students may progress to the Childcare Level 3 (Childcare & Education - Early Years Educator - CACHE Level 3 Technical Certificate) or to employment within the sector.
All students complete a mandatory work placement for two days each week for which they are also assessed three times during the year. There is a placement coordinator who allocates placements in schools and nurseries.
