You must have a minimum qualification at Level 3 in your subject specialism, Level 2 in English and be working towards Level 2 in Maths.

This course is a 'Free Courses for Jobs' course. This courses is free if you are not working, earn below the National Living Wage annually (£18,525), or do not already have a level 3 qualification. find out more

This is an initial qualification for teaching in the Education and Training sector. This course is a great starting point for anyone wanting to teach, and particularly relevant for working in further education, sixth forms, adult education or community education.

The course prepares candidates to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions in a wide range of contexts. This course runs twice throughout the academic year.

  • Assessment Criteria

    On this course you will cover the following topics:

    • Roles and Responsibilities in Education and Training: What is expected of a teacher in Further, Adult and Vocational Education.
    • Assessment in Education and Training: the different approaches used to assess, both formal and informal.
    • Using Inclusive learning and teaching approaches in education and training: planning, delivering and reflection on lessons to meet the needs of all learners
