This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.

On this course you will cover the following topics:

  • Understanding schools as organisations.
  • Understanding how to keep young people healthy, safe and well.
  • Understanding how to communicate with children, young people and adults .

  • Assessment Criteria

    You will be assessed through written work, presentations, and tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet

What Can This Course Lead To

This qualification is aimed at a range of students who are thinking of working in a school setting, including young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language. Successful students might be able to progress to a Level 2 qualification.
