Careers advice for everyone
For many of our students, college acts as a ‘half-way house’ between school and university, or between school and the world of work.
Our Careers teams provide you with the specialist support that you need to progress to a high-quality destination, such as university, an apprenticeship or employment. Find out more here.
All students at New City College receive careers advice and guidance. An appointment can be made with one of our advisors during college working hours. Each of our campus Careers offices is extremely well stocked with Careers and Higher Education resources together with copies of prospectuses from all UK universities.
Careers’ newsletters are sent regularly to students detailing the latest apprenticeships, internships, and employment opportunities and there are Careers events organised at appropriate times of the year for students to attend. These offer the opportunity to meet university and employer representatives. Students also receive individual advice and guidance on how to apply for an apprenticeship or a training programme, as well as choosing their university course, applying through UCAS and support with university interviews. Specialist advice on university finance can also be provided.
