Ways to train to teach

You can start training with us at any level. Choose where you are now and we will show you the next step.

Start where you are, go as far as you want

Whether you are new to education or already work in a classroom, we have a course that fits where you are now.

Our courses go from Level 1 to Level 7, so you can start with no qualifications and work your way up, or join at a higher level if you already have qualifications or experience.

Many of our courses run part time or in the evening, so you can study around work and family. If you are not sure where to start, use our route finder or talk to our team.

If you want to teach in further education

Teach 16-18 year olds and adults in a college or training provider. You do not always need a degree. To become a qualified further education teacher, you need GCSE English and maths at grade 4 (C) or equivalent, and a Level 5 teaching qualification or a further education teaching apprenticeship.

Already working in your industry

Give your skills new life. If you have real-world experience in a subject we teach, you may be able to start training others at a college before you are qualified, then get your teaching qualification on the job or part time with us.
