Course information

If you are ultimately looking for a career as a Personal Assistant or an Office Manager, then this course covering advanced administration skills is the one for you! This course has a mixture of practical and theory based units covering a wide range of advanced administration topics.

You will study:

  • Producing complex business documents
  • Supporting recruitment and selection procedures
  • Understanding functions and roles within a business environment
  • Verbal communication
  • Supporting business meetings
  • Organising business events
  • Reviewing and developing office procedures and legislation affecting businesses.
  • You will develop your ICT skills by studying text production and word processing and finally to put everything you have studied into practice, you'll undertake two weeks' work experience.

    • How you are assessed

      The core business administration units are assessed through completion of externally set coursework tasks. The text production and word processing units are assessed through examinations.

    On completion of the course you should have developed advanced secretarial skills and should gain employment within an office environment. Alternatively you might like to continue studying and enrol on the HNC Business programme.
